This product is a mechanical breakdown service agreement, designed specifically for used vehicles in the UK and operated on a Back-to-Base repair basis.
How You Can Buy This Warranty
You can purchase this warranty in either of the following ways:
When Buying a Vehicle – The warranty may be included with, or added to, the purchase of a used vehicle from SSV UK.
As a Standalone Warranty – You can also purchase the warranty independently after buying your vehicle, subject to inspection & eligibility checks.
The level of cover, structure, and terms remain the same regardless of how or when the warranty is purchased.
What This Warranty Provides
This warranty covers the cost of approved repairs, or a contribution towards repairs, for sudden and unexpected mechanical or electrical failures during the period of cover.

What Is a Back-to-Base Warranty?
A Back-to-Base warranty means that approved repairs must be:
- Completed by the supplying dealer (SSV UK), or
- By exception carried out by a repairer authorised in advance by SSV UK
No repair work should begin without prior authorisation.
This approach ensures:
- Accurate fault diagnosis
- Controlled repair costs
- Repairs completed to an agreed standard
What Is Covered?
Cover applies to the sudden and unforeseen failure of covered mechanical or electrical components, subject to the warranty terms and conditions.
Covered components may include:
- Engine – internal lubricated components
- Manual and Automatic Gearbox
- Differential and Final Drive
- Electrical Systems – starter motor, alternator, ECU (subject to limits)
- Cooling System
- Fuel System – mechanical components
- Steering System (excluding wear items)
- Braking System – hydraulic components only
This warranty covers mechanical breakdown only and does not include wear and tear.
What Is Not Covered?
This warranty does not cover:
- Wear and tear or age-related deterioration
- Routine servicing and maintenance
- Pre-existing faults present before cover starts
- Consumables (filters, fluids, belts unless damaged by a covered failure)
- Cosmetic items, trim, paint, or bodywork
- Faults caused by misuse, neglect, or failure to maintain the vehicle
- Consequential losses (such as hire vehicles, recovery costs, or loss of earnings)

Important Information for Standalone Purchases
If purchased separately from a vehicle sale:
- The vehicle may be subject to age, mileage, and condition checks
- A short waiting period may apply before cover begins
- The product remains a service agreement, not insurance
Standalone purchase does not change the legal or regulatory nature of the warranty.
Is This an Insurance Policy?
No.
This warranty:
- Is not underwritten by an insurer
- Does not provide cash settlements
- Is not a regulated insurance product
It is a contractual service agreement to repair or contribute towards approved repair costs on a Back-to-Base basis, subject to authorisation and limits.
How to Make a Claim
If a fault occurs:
- Stop driving the vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so
- Contact SSV UK or the authorised administrator before any repairs are started
- Provide:
- Vehicle registration
- Current mileage
- Details of the fault
- Await repair authorisation
- Approved repairs are completed on a Back-to-Base basis

Repairs carried out without prior authorisation may not be covered.
Servicing & Maintenance Requirements
To keep your warranty valid, your vehicle must be:
- Serviced in line with manufacturer guidelines
- Maintained using the correct oils and parts
- Supported by evidence of servicing or maintenance
Failure to maintain the vehicle correctly may result in claims being declined.
Claim Limits & Contributions
- Maximum claim limits apply (shown in your warranty schedule)
- Labour rates are capped
- VAT is payable by the policyholder unless stated otherwise
- The administrator may repair, replace, or contribute towards repair costs
Cancellation & Refunds
You may cancel:
- Within the applicable cooling-off period, subject to the warranty terms
- After cover has started, refunds may be calculated on a pro-rata basis
No refunds are available once a claim has been accepted or paid.
Your Statutory Rights
This warranty does not affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Your statutory rights apply separately and independently of this agreement.
Governing Law
This agreement is governed by English law and subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
